Cara's studio is a busy working environment.
Most of Cara's studio time is devoted to commissioned portraits of people and/or animals.
She believes portraits should not be just likenesses but should express something more
personal about the subject. She paints primarily from photos, working alongside professional
photographer Steve Norman for the photoshoot, and will then sort through more than 70 photos,
selecting and combining best elements of features, positioning, expressions, etc. She works
closely with her clients to ensure capturing the results they envision. It is through this
relationship of artist, client and subject that a successful portrait is created.
Cara also enjoys working with other subjects. Her landscape, still-life and abstract works
have all been extremely well received. That reception has led to accepting a wide range of
commissions. Cara welcomes custom work as it provides something personal for the client, as
well as a challenge to inspire growth for her as the artist. Although Cara's studio is not
open to the public, she will make appointments to meet with anyone interested in discussing
her art. She welcomes questions and hopes anyone will feel comfortable approaching her about
the arts and the creative process.
